French leather masters, Bleu de Chauffe, step aside from their beautiful line of sturdy carriers for a moment, creating something special with Nantes notebook brand, Calepino. Describing themselves as "a product of today bearing a timeless surge of quality," the stationery maker took inspiration from a found set of journals belonging to the grandfather of founder Fabrice Richard. The name derived from "Calepin," a popular little portable notebook for jotting down thoughts, the company combine an old-school ethos with a modern approach. With friends Bleu de Chauffe, they create "Portfolio," a protective vegetable tanned leather cover complete with three dot-grid notebooks. This take on cardboard elasticated folders comes in four strap versions, red, green, blue and grey, each book holding up to four journals. The outer handmade in the Midi-Pyrenees region, the paper products formed in Nantes, this French affair is available to purchase right now.
