Brand: Casbia

Season: SS18

Key Pieces: AWOL silhouette made in conjunction with Champion and MAN mid-top sneaker reworked by English skate company Sex Skateboards

Editor’s Notes: Following its SS17 offerings, Casbia returns this spring with another standout range of footwear.

Building on the idea of an imaginary musical album, founder Manuele Bianchi’s vision hits notes of ‘90s sneaker culture and tactical luxury. Each sneaker is hand-made in Italy, boasting premium uppers like reversed Kudu Antelope and Italian buffalo hides, and stonewashed for softness.

The SS18 lookbook, shot in Times Square by our very own Thomas Welch, features the sneakers alongside familiar brands, and also making a statement about Casbia’s desire to stand apart from the status quo.

"We appreciate the rest,” says founder Manuele Bianchi. "But we’re part of the community in a different way."

Furthermore, two collaborations highlight the drop, one with Champion interpreting the ‘90s basketball-inspired AWOL silhouette in smooth calf leather and bright electric blue suede, along with a military-influenced suede olive variation.

The second, is made in conjunction with English skate company Sex Skateboards, headed up by artist and skater Louis Slater, who turns the intricate woven Florentine canvas upper of the MAN mid-top into a screenprinted canvas, emblazoning the sneaker with his company’s lipstick logo, and rests on top of a rubber Margom outsole.

If you like what you see, head on over to Casbia's official website now to shop the entire collection.
