CASCINE continues to have a superb ear for indie pop gems and Claire George might be the most promising signee yet. The singer-songwriter is the former frontwoman of HEARTWATCH, a five-piece band from the Bay Area. After four years of that cycle, George parted ways to breathe new life into a solo project that is an immersive soundscape held together by haunting vocals, swelling production, and healing words. Today, we’re premiering an advance stream of her debut EP titled Bodies of Water. George told us the backstory of the project in a brief email.

“Two years ago, I moved from San Francisco to a house outside of Seattle after a series of difficult life changes that left me longing for solitude. There I learned to produce and write on my own for the first time,” she said. “This EP is the result of the time I took in isolation to process heartache, loss, anxiety, and self-doubt.”

As you’ll soon hear, George learned how to find power in solitude and has emerged to the surface with a fresh state of mind and a polished slab of material. Because why sink when you can swim? Bodies of Water is out on November 16 via CASCINE and you can catch George on the road starting next week. Scroll down for the list of dates and drench yourself with all five tracks below.
