Japan is not only skilled in making excellent denim (and pretty much any fashion piece) but also the finest sneakers.

Converse's Japan imprint is behind some of the brand's nicest shoes, naturally. And its leather Chuck Taylors, in particular, are very good.

They often come swaddled in luxurious grainy Japanese leather. They also typically appear in nice colorways, landing in rich green and classic black options.

Some even came with their own matching buttery trousers.

Unfortunately, Converse's Japan-made steppers aren't widely available. In fact, these new brown Leather All-Star J sneakers are releasing on January 22 exclusively on Converse Japan's website for ¥30,800, roughly $196.
