While it may not have featured the slew of blockbuster albums that swarmed down upon us in May, the month of June still had more than plenty to offer in the best new songs department. In particular, the past few weeks gave us a bevy of surprise returns from artists long on the downlow and a set of collaborations that, while initially a bit shocking, turned out to be bizarrely perfect.

Leading the charge in surprise returns was Jai Paul, the elusive singer/producer who has broken a six-year silence after the release of his legendary leaked self-titled project with the double single “Do You Love Her Now” / “He,” the latter of which being on consistent rotation in the Highsnobiety office. We were also blessed with the (well overdue) first taste of J. Cole’s Dreamville compilation Revenge of the Dreamers III with the posse cut “Down Bad,” featuring the dream-team of Cole, Bas, J.I.D. EARTHGANG, and Young Nudy.

And don’t even get us started on tracks from Kamaiyah, Octavian, GoldLink, and Rich Brian. All those and more made the cut for this month’s Highsnobiety Soundsystem Selects. Take a listen below:
