Thirty-three years on from its initial release, Danish sportswear brand hummel has tapped sneaker king Overkill for a 21st century revamp of the iconic Marathona runner.

The sneaker was hummel's original running shoe back in 1983 and the brand has honored the original design specifications, with Overkill merely adding a little stardust on the aesthetic front. Inspired by du jour hypercolors of the '90s, the Marathona features a white micro-suede and a gradient mesh which transitions from fruity violet to full-on purple.

The sneakers come with complimentary tube socks and are packaged in a box covered with old-school illustrations, making them a must-have for nostalgic sneakerheads and retro runner lovers alike.

The hummel x Overkill C.D.O. Marathona OG will drop exclusively in-store at Overkill on November 25 before hitting select retailers worldwide on December 2 for around $145.

In case you missed it, hummel recently dropped a winter-ready tech pack.
