Jarritos and Nike are dropping a Dunk just in time for summer, potentially opening the door for even more franchise-inspired sneaker collabs. Where's Pepsi x Nike? Coke x Nike?

At least Heineken and Nike made up, according to insider reports.

Speaking of sneaker leakers, they're the ones pointing to Jarritos' Nike Dunk, purportedly dropping right after Cinco de Mayo.

According to the leakers, Jarritos' Nike Dunk releases May 6 at local skate shops, followed by a wider Nike SNKRS release later in 2023.

It's a pretty thoughtful shoe, too, what with its tearaway beige upper made of a textural linen-like fabric and Jarritos branding towards the sneaker's heel.

Fitting that the drink of summer would inspire a sneaker with similar warm weather vibes.

First produced over 70 years ago, Jarritos is an immensely popular brand of Mexican soft drinks, still made domestically to this day. It's definitely a big enough brand to deserve a Nike collab, just a surprising one given that it's better known for refreshing fruit sips than shoes.

Jarritos' Nike Dunk isn't the only unexpected bit of branding crossover to yield a special sneaker.

We've seen everything from Dunkin' Donut Dunks — technically a pretty ingenious custom created to cleverly tie in with Ben Affleck's Air film — to whispers that not only are The Powerpuff Girls returning with a new show in 2023, but they're getting their own Nike Dunk to celebrate.

Nike probably figures that you can't have too many Dunks these days and it's probably right. It's not even just that the age of the Panda Dunk continues, it's that basically any and every colorway of Nike Dunk is a big deal, especially if it's a limited collaboration.

Cheers to that.
