Just days after director Todd Phillips shared teaser images of Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker, footage of the actor on set has emerged. Phoenix, now clad in the villain's signature three-piece suit and makeup can be seen terrorizing a crowded subway station.

Mirroring the classic look seen in Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger's previous interpretations of the character, this Joker is a mess of unkempt green hair and heavy circus-makeup, although his purple suit has been switched out for a rust brown and orange combination.

Going full Clown Prince, Phoenix bustles out a crowded subway car much to the alarm of passengers. While details of the plot are being kept under wraps, a few fans have speculated that Batman's nemesis will run for office in the movie. In the clip, some people on the subway platform are wearing clown masks and holding signs that read "Clown 4 Mayor."

Joker, slated to hit theaters on October 4, 2019, stars Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Marc Maron, Glenn Fleshler, and Brett Cullen.
