Justin Bieber was apparently stopped and questioned by police after an officer mistook the zip-tie on his “Desert Ore” OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Max 90s for a security tag. Bieber posted a video on Instagram Stories explaining what happened.

In the story (below), Bieber jokingly calls out Virgil Abloh for “getting him into trouble.” Apparently, when the cops asked why his kicks still had their security tag, Bieber responded, “It’s just fashion, bro.”

Of course, sneakerheads often choose to leave the zip-tie on OFF-WHITE products, including Abloh’s “The Ten” Nike collection. And it seems Bieber is among them. In 2017, OFF-WHITE cleared up this issue once and for all, by posting a video that shows the zip-tie is in fact intended to be removed.
