Before the red hair, chart-topping hits, and interest in cryptocurrency, Lil Yachty was just a younger, less famous version of the jovial rapper we know today.

The footage, shared on Reddit, shows Yachty as a teenager in high school hilariously pretending to be a news reporter.

In the video, Yachty quizzes his classmates and teachers on whether a gold fork can still be called silverware. Dubbed The Bill Collins Show, it looks like it was stitched together using Windows Movie Maker and, while perhaps not the funniest segment you’ll ever see, the lighthearted look into the rapper’s life before the fame makes him seem more relatable.

In an interview with Vlad TV, Yachty admitted that it took getting busted for stealing credit cards for him to focus more on his music. Whether the red hair came before or after the arrest, it lead to Lil Yachty landing on the charts and collaborating with some of the biggest names in hip-hop.

Below is another video from the Reddit thread, which shows Yachty before the fame but presumably after he had shifted his focus to music.
