Ever since their first collaboration earlier this year yielded an ingenious thermo-reactive flip-flop, we’ve been secretly hoping they’d join forces once again. Well, they have, and the result is crazier than even we could’ve expected – introducing the Zip Top, the world’s first-ever 2-in-1 puffer flip-flop, available now in the Highsnobiety store and launching on October 20 on havaianas.com.
The Zip Top breaks the flip-flop rules by transforming the silhouette into a versatile, all-weather platform — there’s a zip along the edge of the footbed and on the base of the upper that allows you to attach or remove the adjustable puffer upper wherever and whenever you see fit. Intrigued yet? You’re not the only one. Our very own staff have been completely captivated by the weirdly wonderful shoe (if it can even be called a shoe, really) since its first appearance in the office. "I’m always cold so I feel like these flip-flops were invented for people like me. When in doubt, I tend to dress too hot and wear too many layers because I’m scared of getting cold. Thanks to the puffer cover, getting cold feet won’t be something I need to worry about when rocking these!"

"I chose to style the shoes with something to cheer me up. I’m wearing a Henrik Vibskov dress and a Dries Van Noten denim jacket. Normally I don’t have time to drop by my flat during the day, so it’s important to be able to switch from warm to cold and dress up and down. What I like about the shoe is that it fits into two polar opposite situations — You could literally go inside a sauna and walk in the snow with the same shoe. Perfect for a Finnish getaway, which I think is what everyone is looking for, right?"

"The perfect shoe for spring or autumn. You can switch styles easily without taking the shoe off completely. Tabi socks make flip-flops an option outside of summer and, for cycling, you can easily convert them to a closed model with the zipper. It stays warm and cozy, and can also be worn with jogging trousers or wide pants. Super nice!"

"Growing up in the Philippines, flip-flops were essential wardrobe staples for the endless summer. Havaianas was always a great option because you could choose from so many different styles and colors. This new silhouette made for colder months has pops of yellow, so I drew from that when putting together my outfit."
