It is frigid cold outside at Highsnobiety Music HQ, but rising artist Matt Rose has given us a new song that’s got us feeling significantly steamier. His debut single “Apology” is a sultry jam that finds its strength in a message of self-empowerment. Give it a listen below.
Speaking on the track, Matt Rose says that “I wrote ‘Apology’ in a one bedroom apartment in Hollywood, California. It was tiny and I lived with four other people — a moment in my life where I evaluated who and where I was. Out of that came a song, drawing from different inspirations.” noting that “Apology” aims to reject our preconceived notions of hip-hop genre tropes.
Stay tuned for Matt Rose’s debut project to arrive this year.
