Editor’s Notes: Mizuno has enlisted Patta to help usher in the return of an OG colorway of the Mondo Control. The Mondo Control is a popular runner from the ’90s, now a part of the brand’s Kazoku program, which provides customers with a preview a premium version of an upcoming sneaker that will soon be a part of the main collection.
The standout technology of the Mondo Control OG remains the same as the original version, as the Dynamic Foot Counter, which stabilizes the middle of the shoe, has gone on to inspire Mizuno’s signature Wave Technology. The upper of the sneaker features a half bootie construction, with the base being crafted from open mesh, and the toe cap and heel tab are done up in full grain leather. Lastly, the lateral support is made from high quality suede.
This particular OG colorway of the Mondo Control is releasing in Patta Milan, London, and Amsterdam on October 4, followed by a launch at all Kazuko project affiliate stores on October 11.
