Netflix and Mattel have announced He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, an original CG animated series that will reimagine the popular '80s adventure franchise.

"A young prince discovers a mighty power, and an epic story begins once more," Netflix tweeted on Wednesday. "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe wage a new battle against Skeletor in a reimagined take on the classic franchise." According to the show synopsis, the story will take place on the planet of Eternia, where a young lost prince discovers the powers of Grayskull and transforms into He-Man, Master of the Universe. He-Man will then have to face off against evil Skeleton to save the universe.

This new series is part of a major push by Mattel and Netflix to revive the Masters of the Universe series. Netflix also previously announced a 2D animated He-Man series by veteran filmmaker Kevin Smith, called Masters of the Universe: Revelation.  That series is in fact a continuation of the original cartoon, so don’t expect any continuity crossovers between Revelation and the new He-Man 3D series.

Release dates for both He-Man animated shows have yet to be announced.
