With his Jay and Silent Bob Reboot on the way, Kevin Smith looks ahead to his next project, as the veteran filmmaker, actor, and comic book writer joins with Netflix for a new He-Man anime series, Masters of the Universe: Revelation. Smith will be the showrunner for the program, while also serving as executive producer.
According to Smith, Masters of the Universe: Revelation will be a “wholly original story set in the epic world of Mattel’s over 35 year-old global He-Man toy franchise.” The series will reportedly address unresolved storylines from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe of the 1980s, while simultaneously picking up where various character stories left off.

“I’m Eternia-ly grateful to Mattel TV and Netflix for entrusting me with not only the secrets of Grayskull, but also their entire Universe,” Smith said. “In Revelation, we pick up right where the classic era left off to tell an epic tale of what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor! Brought to life with the most metal character designs Powerhouse Animation can contain in the frame, this is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid!”
Masters of the Universe: Revelation will be produced by Mattel Television, while Powerhouse Animation of Netflix’s Castlevania is in charge of animation.
