After linking with hardcore punk band Youth of Today for a special SS19 collection, Noah returns to deliver its latest capsule, here celebrating George Orwell’s classic novella, Animal Farm. The goods, which reference the universal themes highlighted in the book, then feature imagery from Halas and Batchelor’s animated film from 1954.

Touching on the nature of human behavior and its relationship to power, Animal Farm is a longtime favorite of Noah founder Brendon Babenzien. In speaking on the book, he had this to say:

“Orwell created a satire and in doing so critiqued the evolution of the Soviet Union from a Democratic Socialist system to fundamentally a dictatorship. Although Animal Farm speaks specifically about the change in power in Russia, for me, it was obvious that the theme was universal and is just as relevant today as ever.”

“Revolution and regime change lead by the uniformed and without the full understanding of the general population generally leads to a ‘change in masters,’ as illustrated by the pigs becoming more and more like humans and adjusting laws to satisfy their needs – keeping the best food for themselves, allowing themselves to drink alcohol and so on. It’s a recurring theme in world history of the ruling class creating a system that benefits them in every way and excludes the masses.”

Noah’s Animal Farm collection consists of T-shirts, a hoodie, a five-panel hat, and a skate deck. Motifs including the name of the book and “Pig Brother is watching you” are emblazoned on various items.

With prices ranging from $48 to $148, you can shop the celebratory capsule at Noah’s NYC store, online, and at additional retailers like Noah Clubhouse Tokyo and Dover Street Market London and LA.
