Making music in the digital age comes with its pros and cons, but ODIE is embracing this era to the fullest. The Nigerian-Canadian singer-songwriter describes himself as an “analogue artist” and manufactures songs out of an existential fiction version of reality that profoundly speak his truth. Earlier this year, he dropped his debut album which was appropriately titled Analogue. Today, we’re premiering ODIE’s first music video for “Story,” a song that he defines as “the introduction of me; who I am, and my people in the purest form.” ODIE further elaborated on the concept for the DIY-inspired visual in an email to Highsnobiety.

“This summer I embarked on my first sold out world tour with the people closest to me. It was something we’d dreamed of for a long time and we wanted capture each moment,” he said. “We shot a lot of the footage on super 8 in Paris, Amsterdam, LA, London and in my hometowns Toronto and the Bay Area.”

The video plays out like a collection of snapshots into ODIE’s life and the view certainly looks bright from here. Long after his family relocated to the Bay area, ODIE naturally connected with other tastemakers on the rise like Still Woozy, who he recently collaborated with on the track “Lucy.” Watch his latest offering unfold in the video below.
