Tomorrow marks the two-year anniversary of the passing of legendary musician, Prince. This week, however, his estate, in partnership with Warner Bros. Records, has shared a previously unreleased song by the iconic figure.

Here we have the original version of “Nothing Compares 2 U,” written, arranged, produced, and performed by Prince. The track was in turn recorded by Susan Rogers in 1984, featuring background vocals by Susannah Melvoin and Paul Peterson, with Eric Leeds on the saxophone.

To further showcase the original song, the above visual highlights Prince and The Revolution rehearsing “Nothing Compares 2 U” in the summer of 1984.

After initially being released in 1985 by The Family, “Nothing Compares 2 U” was largely made popular by Sinéad O’Connor.

In related news, Vic Mensa says he wants to play Prince in his biopic.

Not NYC, not LA.
