On the latest episode of Red Table Talk, which aired earlier this week, the Smith family held an emergency family meeting. The reason? Jaden Smith's vegan diet.

For the first time ever the entire family joined in the show. Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, Trey Smith, Jaden Smith and Willow Smith gathered around the table to share their private struggles with food and diet.

During the episode, Jada revealed that she and Will had to help Jaden change his eating habits, believing that his vegan diet was proving unhealthy. "Will and I had a bit of an intervention with Jaden because he's a vegan now, but we realized he wasn't getting enough protein,” she explained. “So he was wasting away. He just looked drained, he was just depleted, he wasn't getting the nutrients.”

"He was getting the dark circles under his eyes," Will added. "There was even a little grayness to his skin and we got really nervous, but you're definitely looking better now." Jaden clarified that he is no longer vegan and switched to a vegetarian diet following the intervention.  “I also just wanna say that I'm a vegetarian, that I've tried to be vegan,” he explained. “I'm vegetarian, you know, I've tried to eat vegan meals. I'll go vegan for a week or so but for the past year I've been vegetarian.”
