If it's an icily-cool, R&B slowburner you're in need of for your sultry summer playlist, look no further. Saya, the rising chanteuse hailing from Toronto, has got you covered. Her new single "Side Ting" drips sex appeal, a quality highlighted in the ultra-retro visual. Watch its premiere below.
Directed by Zhamak Fullad, "Side Ting" also serves as a showcase for Sayas' aesthetic sensibilities, providing all the styling herself. Speaking on the track and video, she says that "I wrote 'Side Ting' at a time where I felt stuck; I was lusting for something different and for something more. I tried to depict a playful yet intense visual to go along with the song that almost felt like you were in my head with me. The song was also a little inspired by Brittany Spears’ song ‘Mmm Papi’."
"Side Ting" will serve as the first single from Saya's upcoming EP Sugar Coated, due to be released sometime this fall. In the meantime, revisit her single from earlier this year, "Paid," below.
