Seiko is adding three Gundam-themed watches to its Prospex LX series to mark the 40th anniversary of cult anime series Mobile Suit Gundam. The show has become a cultural phenomenon since it was first aired in Japan in 1979.

Seiko is commemorating the milestone with a RX-78-2 Gundam, MS-06 Zaku II, and MS-06S Zaku II Char Custom mecha suit-inspired watch.

The RX-78-2 Gundam timepiece features a white, blue, and red color scheme, just like the titular mobile suit. It also includes the number of Earth Federation Army stampings, a GMT function, a “Head Sensor” 12 o’clock bezel marking, a power reserve indicator, and is finished off with a stainless steel bracelet and a white/red crocodile strap.

The MS-06 Zaku II is rendered in military green and features a glowing pink circle, a reference to the Zaku II's cyclopic eye. Finally, a crimson-colored timepiece is based on Char Aznable's custom MS-06S Zaku II suit.

The RX-78-2 Gundam will cost ¥630,000 (approximately $5,660), while the other two cost ¥400,000 (approximately $3,590). Head to Seiko to secure the RX-78-2 Gundam today, April 9, and the latter two from April 12.
