What We’re Saying: It looks as if New Balance will be ramping up the 57/40 collaborations in the weeks and months ahead. Just days ago, the brand released an eye-catching pair with South Central LA collective Bricks & Wood, and now, a new drop alongside size? has emerged.

size? debuted its 57/40 collab in a YouTube video highlighting a selection of June sneaker releases. While giving us an up-close look at the shoe, the global retailer revealed two of the reference points for the project: traditional New Balance footwear and outdoor jackets. More specifically, the colorway of the size?-exclusive 57/40 draws from classic NB shoes, namely the brand's signature grey hue. The collaborative sneaker in turn makes use of the shade, pairing it with complementary neutral tones.

The outdoor jacket inspiration is then evident in the shoe's premium construction, which largely pairs hairy suede and mesh with leather. The intricate material composition should prove more than enough to entice those who may feel the overall colorway is a bit drab. Remember, though, the scheme is a nod to New Balance grey, and the more sought-after 57/40s tend to boast vibrant colorways — until now.

While size? has yet to provide release information for its 57/40 collaboration, it did disclose that the drop will include an apparel element. You can check back here for further details, as we'll be sure to bring you the latest news on the project as soon as it comes in.
