Highsnobiety
Double Tap to Zoom

Nestled against the backdrop of the majestic Swiss Alps, Zurich is a perfect distillation of Switzerland’s most distinctive signifiers—precision, intelligence of design, purity of style and an all-encompassing air of understated luxury. Yes, Zurich remains a global financial hub, but what strikes you is its rich cultural and social life, where banking elites rub shoulders with creative eccentrics, boundary-pushing artists, and everyone in between.

Enter Sotheby’s—the iconic auction house who has been listing some impressive buy-now wares as of late. They’ve launched the Sotheby’s Salon, an innovative permanent retail concept inside the iconic Bucherer flagship store in Zurich. The Salon offers an elegant space for luxury connoisseurs to discover rare pieces and high-end finds, from collectables, watches, sneakers, sports memorabilia, jewelry, handbags, and much more—all at a fixed price.

Working day in and day out steeped in the wares of this world, the staff here at Highsnobiety have had a taste for the finer things rub off on them over the years. We went around the office and asked the HS editors what they’ve got their eyes on after perusing the new Sotheby’s Buy Now for themselves.

Ruhi Amin, Senior Branded Editor: “What about these are not delicious and playful? Blue skies, green pastures, tie-dye and cow print make me want to scoop these up and channel my inner eight-year-old ice-cream-loving self. A solid ode to Ben & Jerry’s if you ask me.”

Sam Knoll, Fashion Market Editor: These sneakers signify to me an homage to traditional LV heritage mixed with forward-thinking design practice. Also, I’ll never get tired of a full monogram!

Danielle Colin-Thome, Editorial Operations Director: I love the vibrant pinks, blues, and reds, which are a great tie-in to Piet Parra’s iconic work.

Jake Indiana, Managing Editor: Perhaps inspired by Samantha’s iconic Sex and the City episode, a Birkin has become a major life goal. And seeing it wrought in crimson crocodile is truly mind-boggling. This is the ultimate aspiration.

Viviana Harris, Social Intern/Social Contributor: Recently I’ve become a watch lover and this timepiece from Piaget is just too perfect. The rectangle face is gorgeous, the simple black band is timeless, and of course, who doesn’t love diamonds?

Alexandra Pauly, Beauty Editor: The Birkin is Hermès’ buzziest bag but I’m partial to the Kelly, its older, sterner sister. In no-nonsense taupe, this one gets right down to business.

Arianna Shooshani, Social Media Manager: That plaid expandable portion is like seeing a Chanel bag's boxers. Fun, silly, and chic in one, it's a no-brainer for me.

Genevieve Walker, Executive Editor: These Air Jordans give me a hit of nostalgia: That feeling of seeing what the cool older kids were wearing when I first started paying attention and needing a sneaker beyond reason. But the contemporary Off-White touch seals the deal.
