While SZA‘s long-anticipated project, CTRL, has been delayed until further notice, Coveteur recently visited the singer and spoke to her about the upcoming album, her love for ’90s fashion, favorite shoes and her biggest insecurities. For those who aren’t familiar, SZA’s music is described as alternative R&B, with elements of soul, hip hop, minimalist R&B, cloud rap, ethereal R&B, witch house and chillwave.

Upon meeting her in L.A, SZA revealed that growing up in a modest Muslim home and being overweight influenced her style. Further, she explained how singing and writing developed into therapy for her. “I hope people who listen to my music feel like they’re with me, like we’re in it together and that it’s a group effort.”

Delving more into getting rejected by Earl Sweatshirt and how she’s finally comfortable in her own skin, you can view the entire coverage directly at Coveteur.
