Seventeen years after the incredibly addictive game launched for PC, EA Games has announced that it's finally bringing The Sims to mobile.

Simply called The Sims Mobile, the game will be free to download and will work on both iOS and Android. From the trailer, it seems like the mobile version will have very similar functionality to the PC game; you can create your own sims, build their houses, and run (or sabotage) their work and social lives.

Developers have also added a social feature, where you can connect with your friend's sims to create a mini community.

Readers in Brazil will be able to play the game from today, with a global rollout expected soon. You can keep up to date with developments here.

In other gaming news, the rare ’90s “Nintendo PlayStation” prototype is now finally working.
