Season: Fall/Winter 2018
Key Pieces: Rubber rainboots reading “We Are Infinite,” oversized fuzzy knitwear pieces including beanies, an emerald hooded tracksuit featuring smart tailoring and a ruffled collar detail, and a brand new Nike React Element 87 in a variety of colors, coherent with the aesthetic cues we have come to expect from UNDERCOVER over the years.
Walked onto the runway by none other than Sadie Sink, best known for her role as Max in the widely popular teen drama, Stanger Things, the sneaker’s midsole has called on the functionalities of Nike Running’s React Foam technology, as well as a plethora of technical fabrics, in an equally broad selection of colors. Speaking on her first ever catwalk, Sink noted to Nike, “I mean, I didn’t really know what do – my plan was like I guess I’m gonna just walk I guess. But it’s, it’s crazy. It’s fun. Like I just did the rehearsal and it’s like weirdly fun.” Take your best look yet at the new silhouette in action below ahead of its expected Fall release.
Photographer Karl Hab also got backstage to shoot a selection of ultra-clean shots, showing off the exciting new design in all its glory.
Editor’s Notes: Following up from a polished, lady-like SS18 collection where Jun Takashi paid hommage to legendary conceptual photographer Cindy Sherman, UNDERCOVER took womenswear into cozy, collegiate territory for FW18. Styling was laid back with puffers and jewel toned bomber jackets layered over tailored pants, and tracksuits. Whereas SS18 courtesy of Sherman was pure feminine fantasy, FW18 takes us to a more androgynous college campus, and we’re very much here for it.
