Over the years, Kanye West has been responsible for a number of designs that have left us scratching our heads, like the shapely 450. This one may take the cake, though. Ye's all-new Knit Runner — or YZY KNIT RNR, as it's called — is launching very soon in "Sulfer" on YEEZY SUPPLY's website.

For all intents and purposes, the forthcoming YEEZY silhouette is a knit version of the ever-popular Foam Runner, which we declared to be one of the best shoes of the summer. And the YEEZY SLIDE is definitely up there, too.

Whereas the Foam Runner is made from foam produced from algae, the YZY KNIT RNR is made from — well — a knit material. The connection to the Foam Runner is clear, however, as it boasts the same general shape as the other laceless shoe.

According to sneaker leakers, the YZY KNIT RNR was initially referred to as the "Turreliens" and "TRRL RNR."

We're okay with the name change — YZY KNIT RNR is not super easy to write out but at least it's easy to say (knit runner rolls off the tongue pretty well). From these early images of the silhouette, seemingly previewing the shoe in prototype form, we see the Knit Runner in a two-tone colorway pairing a sand hue with yellow, or "Sulfer" as the name seemingly implies. At the heel you'll see a "Size US9" tag, which is likely merely for prototype purposes.

The YZY KNIT RNR "Sulpher" launches September 23 on YEEZY SUPPLY, likely soon to be followed by many more versions of this weird slipper silhouette.
