To label the “Hideout” exhibition at Table of Contents in Portland, Oregon as merely an art installation would be understating its premise. Though it does feature work by Jacob Gevalt, Paul Savovici and Shohei Takasaki, much like the space itself, “Hideout” has adapted itself to whatever it can fathom, based on the idea of relational aesthetics, which takes “the everyday context as its focus.”
As such, the environment constantly rearranges itself to accommodate a variety of events, including workshops and screenings. The works themselves are abstract in nature and invite viewers to form their own conclusions.
“Hideout” began on January 24 and wraps up on Friday, January 29.
