This surely isn’t the first time that Kanye West’s ever-controversial music video for “Famous” has been analyzed, and it likely won’t be the last. But what we have here is definitely one of the more qualified individuals to take a look and dissect such a piece of film. Accordingly, The Daily Beast recently got together with award-winning filmmaker Werner Herzog to get his take on Kanye’s recent NSFW aesthetic.

Herzog is no doubt well-respected within the film industry, and this summer he even launched a six-hour online filmmaking course at his Rogue Film School. With that being said, what better person to analyze such a work of “art” than the respected veteran?

When approached by The Daily Beast to lend his thoughts on the “Famous” visual, Herzog seemingly agreed without hesitation, and upon getting his first glimpse, he exclaimed: “I have never seen anything like this.”
