In an interesting new feature, VOX went ahead and analyzed all of Homer Simpson’s jobs and salaries that he had over the last 27 seasons of The Simpsons.

Having had over 100 jobs in the show, ranging from CEO of the power plant and making $980,000 to wrestler where he made $18,000, the analysis of Homer’s jobs and salaries shows a striking resemblance to the state of the American middle-class. With all these jobs that he had over the years, his median salary never surpassed $40,000, which is well below the American average, yet just about right for the kind of city he lives in. As an interesting reference, the voice actor that plays Homer Simpson has received $300,000 per episode in 2015, amounting to a yearly salary of $6.6 million.
