Russell Westbrook’s dominance on the court is well-documented, but it’s his style successes that have helped shape him into a modern-day icon. While we’re used to seeing some of Russell’s more creative looks during the pre- and post-game recaps, he’s a certifiable menswear master. Tapping into his ongoing partnership with True Religion, Westbrook gives the rest of us a taste of his forward-thinking style, courtesy of his co-designed Fall 2016 collection.
This wasn’t just any collection showcase however—Westbrook and True Religion made sure to keep things close-to-home with a blowout pop-up exhibit, held at the Nault Fine Art Gallery in Westbrook’s adopted home of Oklahoma City. Featuring a first look at the brand new fall drop, Westbrook himself was on hand to chop it up with fans, give style advice and walk people through his designs with True Religion.
Naturally, the collaborative collection combines exactly what you like from both True Religion and Westbrook—modern styles with some eye-grabbing sartorial twists. Distressed knits, a contemporary varsity jacket, and extended tees emblazoned with the phrase “Why not?” are just the starting points for a collection filled with seasonal essentials. Of course, it wouldn’t be a True Religion release if there wasn’t denim on deck, and naturally, this partnership doesn’t disappoint. Whether you like your jeans clean cut, or cut up, there’s something here for the most low-key denimheads.
If you’re chomping at the bit to get your hands on this collection, fear not. Westbrook’s latest partnership is available now on the True Religion app, and will be hitting stores on October 6. Now all you have to do is ask yourself: Why not?
