Where the runway meets the street

Hedi Slimane has made no bones about his distaste for fashion critic Cathy Horyn in the past, and now the two have — no pun intended — locked horns again after Slimane revitalized his previously dormant Twitter account for an A+ rant that even Kanye himself would been proud of.

The now-departed Saint Laurent designer initially labelled Horyn a “schoolyard bully” in an open letter back in 2012 following the journalist’s review of his debut Saint Laurent show. When Horyn dismissed those claims as “silly nonsense,” Slimane then turned to Twitter with a put down for the ages — the type of thing that one may forgive but can never truly forget — and referred to Horn as “Catty Horyn.”

The latest drama was seemingly sparked by Horyn’s NYMag review of Anthony Vaccarello’s first YSL collection since succeeding Slimane. In the review, Horyn again implicated that Slimane attempted to erase the “Y” from “YSL,” but on the whole, was actually praiseful of the designer, albeit in the most backhanded way possible. Obviously, the storm around the logo still remains a sensitive issue for Hedi.

Brace yourself in, because here’s the 22 tweet, third person-tastic, rant in full. And yes, those caps lock have been switched ON:

Talk about savage.
