For SS17, purveyor of ultimate opulence, Rolls-Royce, has tapped into haute couture for its new Dawn car.

The House of Rolls-Royce design director Giles Taylor enlisted help from the worlds of fashion, fine textiles, and luxury accessories to work on the project, including leather technologist Michelle Lusby; a previous employee of Mulberry. A range of fine silks and unexpected textures have been incorporated into the car’s interior, with a series of bespoke commissions (from eye-wateringly wealthy people, no doubt) having already been green-lit.

Dawn’s exterior comes in a neutral huge of Andalucian white with a choice of three further colors — Mugello Red, Cobalt Blue or Mandarin — which adorn the folding roof as well as the embroidered headrests and seat pipings. Microcosmic of the car’s luxury is the integrated bespoke clock and piano-white dash that incorporates embedded aluminum particles for a silk-like appearance — a process which takes nine days (!) to complete per car.

If you happen to be mad rich, then the Rolls-Royce Dawn is available to order from November. Be sure to check back on these pages for more spec and pricing news as it surfaces.

Staying with unaffordable luxury cars, Mercedes-AMG has just unveiled two super powerful E-Class models.
