Chance might be the Rapper, but he’s also quite the philanthropist. The Grammy award winner donated $1 million to Chicago schools yesterday, whose funding has been significantly impacted by the State of Illinois. After meeting with Illinois Governor Bruce Raumer last Friday, he spoke at a press conference yesterday outlining issues with education in Chicago and how he plans to help. “This isn’t about politics, this isn’t about posturing, this is about taking care of the kids,” Chance the Rapper explained. He even got a shout out from none other than former FLOTUS Michelle Obama.

On the music side of Lil’ Chano, he was recently added to the already stellar lineup for Essence festival this summer in New Orleans, and teased a collaboration with Future a few weeks back. He’s currently working on his debut album – no word yet on when that will drop.
