Today Microsoft has officially introduced its new Surface laptop powered by Windows 10 S. Designed to empower today’s students and teachers to create the world of tomorrow, the laptop was built to do two things: refresh the classic laptop form factor that customers, especially college students, have been asking for, and make a Surface that works seamlessly to showcase the best of Windows 10 S.
The Surface laptop is being marketed as the most versatile and mobile laptop Microsoft has ever made. Surface Book provides an incredible trackpad and typing experience, while Surface Studio gives you the ability to immerse yourself in various ideas. Lastly, Surface Dial is a new tool for creators that with integration across Windows apps, brings new experiences to life.
No other laptop is as light and thin as Surface. It weighs in at 2.76 pounds and is 14.47 millimeters at its thickest point. Upon opening the laptop, you will immediately be drawn to a brilliant 13.5-inch PixelSense Display, complete with edge-to-edge Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The thinnest screen featured on any laptop, it 3.4M pixels with every pixel color calibrated to give you an unmatched viewing experience.
Additionally, Surface comes with a 7th Generation Intel Core processor and boasts up to four more hours of battery power than a 13-inch MacBook Pro, totaling 14.5 hours.
The Alcantara-covered keyboard and soft palm rest then provides with a new level of typing comfort.
Arriving in multiple color options, the anodized metal on the outside feels smooth and cool while the inside Alcantara material feels soft and warm.
