Global brand consultancy Interbrand has revealed the top performing global brands for its 2017 rankings and Louis Vuitton is marked as the top luxury fashion brand worldwide, ranked at 19, while Hermès climbed to 32 and Gucci placed at 51, respectively.

Other notable fashion labels such as Burberry slipped to 86th place, while Prada fell to 94 and Ralph Lauren dropped out of the rankings completely, as it ranked 98 out of the top 100 recognized brands last year.

In an exclusive with the Business of Fashion, Rebecca Robins, global director at Interbrand cited that Louis Vuitton’s collab with Supreme as one of its key points for success this year.

“Louis Vuitton has connected the brand into culture. When we look at Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Hermès what is the magic with these brands? Not only are they going strong operationally, but it’s their relationship between brand and culture and they are doing it in a way that is of the moment and relevant but also sustainable. It’s not a flash-in-the-pan. It’s well thought through, strategically driven and delivered with the strength of their conviction,” she says.

Furthermore, Apple, Google and Microsoft continue to remain as the top three most valuable brands.
