If there’s one thing that gets most of us through the day, it’s discovering new artists. Whether we’re scrolling through SoundCloud looking for mood tunes to help alleviate a case of the Mondays, or listening to a mixtape someone has sent our way, not a day goes by without some kind of music playing in our offices.

Since our inboxes tend to get inundated with projects from artists interested in coverage, we’re spotlighting some of the quietly wondrous musicians that find their way to us each week. These artists may not have conquered the Billboard 100 (yet) but they’ve all got something unique to offer, and they’re all worth getting to know.

Scroll through to see our 10 under the radar artists to discover this week, and stay tuned for a fresh selection next week.

Cimo Fränkel

Danger Incorporated

Where: Atlanta
What They’re Working On: Their debut album, Bird Fly By Night, which is out this Friday, October 20 via Awful Records.
Sounds Like: A soulful R&B jam you could sing to your girlfriend, until you realize she might not like the Olsen twin comparison and also that the beat keeps sneaking off to huff whippets.

Empathy Test

Where: London
What They’re Working On: Safe From Harm, an upcoming full-length out on November 17.
Sounds Like: Making out somewhere warm as snow starts slowly falling outside.

J Rebbell

Where: Eastern California
What They’re Working On: Continuing to serve one hell of a flow.
Sounds Like: Attending a DIY trap-house party held in the neighborhood Chinese restaurant.

Mallrat

Where: Brisbane, Australia
What They’re Working On: Following up this excellent new single after signing to a major label.
Sounds Like: The middleground between acoustic bedroom-pop and radio-ready floor-fillers that Miley Cyrus is desperately trying to find right now.

Reece West

What They’re Working On: The 3D EP, of which the above song is the first single.
Sounds Like: Hanging out with a group of Blade Runner replicants in the future grime scene.

Snoh Aalegra

Where: Stockholm
What They’re Working On: The album FEELS, out this Friday, October 20, along with a massive tour to support.
Sounds Like: Hanging out in an old school jazz club that has been submerged leagues under the ocean.

Snow Tha Product

Where: San Jose, California
What They’re Working On: Touring the US on her ‘Vibe Higher’ Tour and feeling great after winning an MTV VMA.
Sounds Like: If the spring break trip to Cabo in The O.C. ended in a feel-good dance party and not a tragic break-up.
