The first collection from Japanese designer Thibaut was the talk of the town at Amazon Fashion Week in Tokyo this week — but not quite for the reasons you might expect.
There was one look in particular that had tongues wagging (and eyeballs popping) when it was premiered on the runway. Here it is.
Yes, we’ve already had a few daft fashion trends this year (male rompers, we’re looking at you), but it appears that “thong jeans” are now most definitely a thing. The barely-there style takes distressed jeans to an entirely new level — the front and back panels of the legs are completely cut out.
The piece has since been doing the rounds on social media, and it’s fair to say that people aren’t impressed.
