3.1. Phillip Lim’s latest men’s collection, accompanied by a short film titled “Romancing Reality,” written and directed by Daniel Peddle in collaboration with Phillip Lim, captures the spirit of men preparing to engage the world on their own terms. For all of us, that starts with our morning routine, those hazy moments right after the alarm clock goes off that can make or break the rest of the day.

The film documents the daily rituals of three men as they first wake up, each one following a distinct path as they get ready for whatever may come their way. Every step of the process is almost an act of meditation, a way for creating serene moments in the midst of urban madness. It’s relatable on so many levels, from sharing breakfast with your dog to cleaning up your buzz cut before getting dressed.

These guys also understand that finding the right ‘fit isn’t always what we try on first; it’s what feels right. The uniform we put on every morning says a lot about who we are and what we face, so it needs to be on point. That’s where 3.1 Philip Lim comes in.

The luxury brand’s Fall 2019 menswear collection offers a range of essentials that can be seamlessly mixed into anyone’s rotation. The blazers, button-ups, trousers, and tees feature clean lines juxtaposed with a healthy dose of asymmetry. There’s even a splash of abstract jungle print just to jazz things up. Everything is tied together with a subtle color palette and relaxed silhouettes that exude comfort and confidence.

A few key pieces stand out, like a long, tobacco mac jacket and rubberized high-top sneakers. Both can instantly take your wardrobe to the next level, regardless of your look. There’s also a pocket tee that reads, “Find your slice of Heaven,” the perfect mantra as we set out to seize the day.

Join Phillip Lim for an in-person Q&A on Wednesday, August 28th at 7:00 p.m. at the New York boutique (48 Great Jones St.).
