AIK Fotboll grabbed our attention last month when the football club dropped a blacked-out jersey — one we were more than happy to call “possibly the best this year.” Now, the reigning Swedish champions have followed that release up with an equally stunning jersey, this time in white and gold.

The jersey keeps things clean, simply flipping the all-black colorway into a white/gold rendition. The all-white shirts feature the club crest, 1891 (the year AIK was founded) in place of the club’s sponsor, and Nike’s iconic Swoosh branding in a contrasting gold color.

Speaking to Highsnobiety about the latest jersey, AIK chairman Eric Ljunggren says “Our whole staff - the designers, the merch team and the brilliant social media team - have worked with Nike and delivered on a level Swedish football has never seen before. AIK, the club I have supported since I was three, has the best looking kits in the world. The best. No question about it.”

As with the blacked-out version (which sold out in 2 minutes on Pro:Direct Soccer), only 128 shirts of the white/gold version will be produced. Each shirt will be presented in a premium white and gold box with gold trim.

Ljunggren says “I have had friends of friends that don’t even care about football calling from Hong Kong and the USA asking if I can get them a shirt. One of them got really angry: “I can get Yeezys easier than a goddamn AIK shirt!”. The world is desperate for AIK. Just like it should be.”

The color gold has a special place in AIK’s history, as its current crest, drawn in 1898 by Fritz Carling, has gold detailing on the letters, lining, sun, and towers, leading the club to be known as “the Club With Golding Lining.” The choice in color is, therefore, a throwback to the club’s beginnings, rather than a boast of last year’s league title.

Once again, AIK will donate proceeds from the sale of the special edition shirts to the local Stockholm project youth, thru football, to work against segregation in the community.

AIK will be playing in the 1891 White Edition jersey in its pre-season friendly against New York FC.

Dubbed the “1891 White Edition” shirt, the jersey will be available on Sunday, February 10 at 2pm GMT from the club’s official store and on Wednesday, February 13 at 10am GMT through
