Chilling in Oahu, Hawaii with Knxwledge, Anderson .Paak has been working on a new album in ideal beachside surroundings, according to a video he posted on Instagram yesterday. Catch the clip below where he softly pontificates about freedom as waves gently wash up on the shore. Whether the album he’s referring to is a solo .Paak joint or the recently announced record from his new band The Free Nationals is still to be confirmed.

Earlier this year, the hip-hop wizard announced a collaboration with electronic maestro Flying Lotus. His upcoming LP will be a followup to his critically acclaimed album Malibu, released last January. We’re eager to hear what the Dr. Dre-approved West Coast rapper has been up to in the studio.

Revisit Anderson .Paak’s '70s funk homage “Come Down“ below.
