Ahead of next month's premiere, Warner Bros. shares the final trailer for Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa as the titular character. The clip showcases a young half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry training to become the hero Atlantis deserves.

The film ultimately delves into the origin story of Curry and explains why he's destined to be a king. During his spectacular journey, Arthur is forced to face who he really is, while dealing with worthy adversaries.

Aquaman lands in theaters on December 21.

Aquaman, real name Arthur Curry, is a DC Comics superhero created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, debuting in 1941. Later in the '50s and '60s, the character became a founding member of the Justice League. It wasn't until the '90s that Aquaman began to evolve as a character, with storylines centering around his role as the king of Atlantis.

Marvel legend Stan Lee went on to reimagine Aquaman, in addition to other DC Comics superheroes. Lee's 2001 comic book, Just Imagine..., featured Aquaman and accounted for Lee's first work for DC Comics.

Now for more entertainment, watch the trailer for upcoming Deadpool Christmas movie, ‘Once Upon a Deadpool.’
