BAPE has been toying with our nostalgia for beloved pop culture figures a lot recently. The past month has seen collaborative lines with Felix the Cat, Mickey Mouse and Jaws. Now the brand has turned to the magic land of ‘90s television with its latest capsule collection: a line created from the cult classic show Masked Rider.
Masked Rider was a live-action adaptation of a Japanese series of the same name that ran on FOX Kids through the mid-‘90s. It was a spin-off of Power Rangers, which should tell you everything you need to know about the quality of its special effects. The BAPE collection is a combination of T-shirts and hoodies featuring characters from the show in a variety of graphics laden on chest, sleeves and hood.
The full BAPE x Masked Rider collection drops on July 2 in select retailers and on BAPE’s online store.
