BMW is known to be presenting impressive concept cars every year at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and it seems to be no different this year. With the new BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage, the design team pays homage to the iconic 3.0 CSL, a timeless classic and iconic BMW Coupé from the 1970s. With its homage design studies BMW demonstrates how important the past is for the future of the brand, sticking to the values that it once established. In the case of the 3.0 CSL these values include lightweight design and performance. Racing genes and elegance have been combined in the exterior design of the car, which has been mostly built using carbon fiber. The laser light and LED technology used on the aggressive front and back of the car set nice modern accents. The overall direction of the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage by the brand was to give it motorsport genes and yet a certain elegant appeal, with the result being the perfect fusion of the two.
