The duo, who have dropped silhouettes like the Chop Saw and and Dead Flesh in recent years, have this time spun an original style out of Oakley’s Factory Team HQ. Titled the Paguro, the slip-on mule is inspired by the crustacean of the same name, one better known as the hermit crab.

According to a joint Oakley and Brain Dead statement, the two brands explored the Paguro’s evolutionary process and how it naturally moves from shell to shell during the design process. So, in this vein, the Paguro slide represents a currently-empty shell that, like the crab, is also detailed with intricacies.

Boiled down, though, the Paguro is simply a damn nice slide that’s arrived in three earthy colorways of “Cold Brew,” “Hummus” and “Toadstool,” and one crafted with EVA foam, TPU for comfort, and ventilation on the upper.

With or without socks, the Paguro has its place. Which is handy nowadays, because if there’s one thing we’re all in search of when it comes to purchasing new footwear, it’s versatility, a facet the Paguro has in abundance.
