It’s that time of year again. Book those flights, whip open your home recipe books, and dig up the sweater that auntie gifted you last year and hasn’t seen the light of day since. All of the detailed coordinating and last-minute searching for the perfect gift just to share those precious moments with those who love you the most.

Emphasizing the importance of cherishing time with family and friends, we called on NYC-based artist and designer Olivia Rose to share why she thinks it’s essential to capture authentic moments during the holidays. As the founder of the modern creative studio Original Rose, the resourceful creative knows how important it is to capitalize when creativity strikes, especially when you’re with friends and family.

For Rose, Ray-Ban Stories makes it easy to create with her loved ones allowing her to fully soak in those extra special memories. “Holidays are the time to bring everyone together, hang out, laugh and chill,” says Rose, “Getting warm and cozy with the people you love is about as good as it gets.”

Check out how Rose uses Ray-Ban Stories to capture these special moments during the holiday season below:

What holiday traditions did you have growing up? I’ve always been an art and crafts baby. I would sit for hours making holiday wreaths, building gingerbread houses, and snow sculptures. If we’re friends, we are taking a classic holiday craft and being VERY extra with it.

What does living in the moment mean to you? Living in the moment means not worrying about your past or future. Living in the now and enjoying every moment second by second.

How do Ray-Ban Stories let you simultaneously live in and capture the moment during the holidays? The smart glasses just let me do my thing, hang with my friends, work on my crafts and document my process without having to do any setup. I just say the command, and I’m taking photos or recording and not skipping a beat. I can just be in the moment and look cute with my glasses.

How have the Ray-Ban smart glasses eased your daily activities? When working on a project with a deadline, it’s really hard for me to properly document my process because I’m so focused on the physical piece. With the smart glasses, I can put them on and just record with no extra work needed.

Who in your life would you give a pair of Ray-Ban Stories to and why? My mom has already informed me she will be taking them from me. She has a huge sunglasses collection and is rarely seen without a pair. She’s also a photographer, so it’s a no-brainer.

How does being in the moment help create better holiday memories? When you’re in the moment, you’re having fun! I don’t want to spend my holidays getting lost in my phone; I want to live in the real world with my friends, taking photos and laughing.
