Known as one of the most distinct filmmakers working in Hollywood today, much of Nicholas Winding Refn’s work features highly-stylized scenes that exude high-contrast aesthetics. While some may point to it as a personal choice, Winding Refn’s attributes his visual style to the fact that he is colorblind and wouldn’t be able to see his shots if he didn’t compose them the way that he does.
