Editor’s Notes: After debuting at Paris Fashion Week last year, the COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Shox TL is seeing sporadic releases worldwide this week. Both colorways first dropped in Japan, followed by a European release on June 11. June 1e brings with it the long-awaited North American release at DSM New York.

COMME des GARÇONS is no stranger to debuting Nike sneakers on the Paris runway, having previously previewed its Nike ACG Mowabb during the brand’s FW18 showcase.

Shox were most popular in the early ’00s, curiously being spotted with regularity on the feet of Hugh Laurie's cranky character in the TV show House, M.D., but the line was discontinued as Nike focused on other technologies. But the Swoosh announced in 2017 that the model was to make a comeback, and this COMME des GARÇONS collab is no doubt part of a push to get people talking about Shox again.

Last year, we predicted a Shox comeback thanks to the growing popularity of chunky, technical runners. The Shox, of course, is the epitome of that.
