Brand: COMME des GARÇONS x Nike ACG
Model: Air Mowabb
Key Features: The sneaker’s suede panels stand in subtle contrast to the Mowabb’s neoprene upper, which COMME des GARÇONS uses to further accentuate the chunky shape of the Mowabb. Ankle support with ACG branding on its side is present, while the silhouette’s signature chunky midsole and heel counter are, of course, key parts of the design. The sneaker comes in either black or white.
Release Date: The sneakers were available at select retailers such as Dover Street Market and CdG stores and are rumored to come to the Nike SNKRS app in the near future.
Buy: TBC (rumored to be coming to the SNKRS app)
Editor’s Notes: Having collaborated on Nike’s Air Max 180 earlier this summer, COMME des GARÇONS has put some work in on Nike’s trail-ready Mowabb silhouette, one of the most beloved sneakers from Nike’s ACG range.
One of the Swoosh’s most influential ACG sneakers, the Mowabb, is dressed up in what looks like white micro-suede, however, the design is kept simple. The Japanese fashion house is clearly letting the sneaker flex its “chunky muscles” as shapely shoes continue to be highly popular.
Having already dropped (and sold out) at Barneys New York, Dover Street Market followed with stock on August 3, alongside select CDG stores. Now, official product shots of the sneakers have emerged online. This seems to suggest that the Mowabb is also expected to land on the Nike SNKRS app in the coming weeks.
Of course, with no official word from Nike this will have to be taken with a grain of salt.
