Upon collaborating with Kim Jones and Dior for SS20, Daniel Arsham this week shares a truly unique piece he helped design for the fashion house. The jewelry references Arsham’s Crystal Eroded Sculpture invite created for Dior’s SS20 runway show, as the invite was in turn inspired by Christian Dior’s 1951 biography.

According to Arsham’s Instagram post, the idea for the piece of jewelry came from Dior’s jewelry team who found a collection of 19th century pendants that unfolded like a book. From there, the American artist worked with Dior Men’s director of jewelry Yoon Ahn to turn his Crystal Eroded Sculpture invite into a necklace pendant that could also be worn separately as a bracelet. The pendant bracelet incorporate’s Dior’s oblique pattern, a repeated CD motif, and the title of Christian Dior’s biography, Je Suis Couturier.

After getting a detailed look at the bracelet via Arsham’s Instagram post shown above, be sure to watch below as the artist/designer discusses his aforementioned Dior collaboration.
